What happens to your piece after you leave, and how to look after it once it's home.
Around two weeks. Once you've finished painting, your piece is glazed and fired in our kiln. It's a slow process that can't be rushed, and the step that makes it durable, food-safe and glossy.
Rather than calling the studio, you can check the status of your pieces online at any time through our order tracker.
Collect from the same studio you painted at, during normal opening hours. Bring your booking reference or the name the session was booked under.
If collecting isn't practical, we can post your pottery for a fee. Ask at the studio when you finish, or get in touch afterwards and we'll arrange it.
Your finished piece is food-safe and dishwasher-friendly. That said, handmade ceramics last longest with a bit of gentleness. Hand-washing is kinder than a dishwasher cycle, and avoid sudden temperature changes such as moving a piece from the fridge straight into a hot oven.
Small variations in glaze, tiny specks and slight unevenness are normal in handmade pottery. They're a sign it was made by a person rather than a machine, not a fault.
Most pieces are microwave-safe once glazed and fired, but avoid the oven, and never use a piece with visible cracks or chips for food.
We'll hold your pieces for a reasonable period and will get in touch if they've been waiting a while. If you know collection will be delayed, just let us know.
