Good to know

Do I need any experience?

No. The course is designed for complete beginners and starts with the very basics of preparing clay.

How is it different from the taster class?

A taster class is a single session to try clay. The Foundation Course gives you five weeks with the same instructor, so you get far more time on the wheel and build skills you can keep developing afterwards.

What is the minimum age?

The course is suitable for ages 15 and over.

What if I miss a session?

Your booking secures your place for all five weeks. Missed sessions cannot be refunded, rescheduled or moved to another course, so please check you can make every date before booking.

How many pieces do I take home?

Your best five pieces are glazed and fired as part of the course. Extra pieces can be fired for £5 to £10 each depending on size, within our studio size guidelines.

What happens to unfired work?

Finished work is kept for a limited time after the course ends. Unfired clay is reclaimed through our studio recycling process, and we encourage mindful use of materials throughout.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 14 days before the start date for a full refund. Cancellations 7 to 14 days before receive a 50% refund, and less than 7 days before a 20% refund.

What if the course is cancelled?

If the minimum number of participants is not met, or for reasons beyond our control, we may cancel or reschedule a course. We will let you know at least 7 days before the start date and offer a full refund or a place on a future course.

Where does the course run?

At Bonbon Royal Wharf, 3 Royal Crest Avenue, London E16 2PG, about 3 minutes' walk from Pontoon Dock DLR.
